Javier Vargas Mendoza Experience
Javier Vargas is an internationally reknown lecturer, corporative consultant, meta-coach and passionate humanist, who firmly believes that personal, insitutional and collective transformation emerges from within, and depends on cultivating greater conscious awareness at all levels.
Javier is a psychologist and athropologist with a Master’s in Sociology (Louvain, Belgium), Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Accredited Certified Meta-Coach and Neuro-Semantic/NLP Trainer, Certified by the Internationla Society of Neuro-Semantics.
Fifty years of experience validate Javier’s insights and leadership in business, social and educational areas, contributing to the creation of cultural change that transcends obstacles and generates wellbeing in those with whom he interacts.
The state of Chiapas has indelibly marked Javier’s life during decades of close interaction with the cosmovison, needs and organizational efforts of innumerable indigenous communities throughout the region. He has been deeply involved in important events there, including the organization of the First Indigenous Congress in Mexico held in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, in 1974, which gave voice to more than 300,000 indigenous people through the representation of their 1,600 leaders.
Javier has founded national and international social organizations, including “Enlace, Comunicación y Capacitación, A.C. (1983) and the “Convergencia de Organismos Civiles por la Democracia” in 1993, convoking and working with other influential civil society leaders, to develop projects of social transformation.
In 1994 Javier became a Senior Fellow of the Synergos Institute in New York, founded by Peggy Dulaney, and has served Synergos as a representative and guide for Synergos members in Zimbabwe, the Phillipines, Thailand and South Africa, invited by Nelson Mandela as part of a group of Senior Fellows.
Javier was the Co-Chairperson of the Salzburg Seminar, “Leadership and Civil Society” in 1997 and was Faculty Member for the session “The Independent Sector Building on the Past and Looking to the Future” in 1999, working with leaders from 65 countries.
The first Premio Nacional al Liderazgo Social, (National Award for Social Leadership) was bestowed on Javier in 2000 by the “Fundación Compartir Social, IAP” in Mexico City.
Javier has been a presenter at the World Economic Forum on four occasions: in Cancún, Mexico (2000), in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2001), in New York, USA,(2002) and in Davos, Switzerland, (2003).
As President of “La Liga Iberoamericana para la Superación de la Pobreza y la Exclusión Social“, (Ibero-Amercan League of Civil Society Organizations for Overcoming Poverty and Social Exclusion) from 2002 to 2006, Javier guided and led important projects with Civil Society Organizations in 18 Latin American and European countries.
Javier was the first Executive President ot the Ramón Vargas Foundation, A.C. sponsoring programs of “Communiy-Based Inclusion” constructing a life of dignity and human rights for people with disabilities.
Javier has worked with businesses, multi-lateral organizations and civil society organizations in 16 countries of the Americas, 3 in Africa, 4 in Asia and 9 in Europe.
Javier’s experience also includes working as a strategic reference person for the Directors of the World Bank in Mexico, the federal Secretary of Social Development for Mexico, leaders of the Inter-American Bank for Development, of the National Bank of Mexico, and Unicef.
More recently Javier has been the Founder and Associate Director of Transformative Coaching and Training, S.C., working in Mexico and internationally.
As a member of Project Synthesis, Javier has facilitated human processes and relationships in business and social enterprises.
Javier is the Founder and President of “Educar Nos Transforma, S.C.”, (Education Transforms Us) where he has been creating innovative solutions for the challenges facing families and schools while also coaching business people, and achieving high-level personal and organizational transformations.
For Javier, what is most important is recreating consciousness and leadership through concrete, effective and efficient actions at both the personal and social levels. His profesional experience now focusses principally on the integral development of businesses, educational centers and social organizations.
He is inspired by contributing to transformational changes, motivating human potential, and the sustainability of collabortive efforts in networks at local, national and international levels.
